This is Review on China Ceramics, Ken Huo speaking.We bring you the weekly updates on China ceramic industry.

1.全国投资项目办理结果公示网的不完全统计,2018年截止到目前,全国新增214个陶瓷投资项目通过审批, 其中批建陶瓷生产线66条。 投资项目数量最多的为福建产区,共有67个,广东产区则有15个,山东产区6个。
Production capacity. According to the data from National Investment Project Handling Results Publicity Network, as of today, 214 new projects for ceramic investment were approved, of which are 66 ceramic production lines. In light of quantity, Fujian is ranked number 1 with its 67 projects, followed by  Guangdong with 15 and Shandong with 6 .

2. 2017年,仿古砖以625条生产线跃居品类第一位,相比2014年增加127条生产线,增幅达25%。而在此期间,中国瓷砖总产能减少2.4%。
KEN哥评论: 在行业人士看来,仿古砖有卓越的花色开发,渠道开发稳固,发展势头强劲,仍有发展前景。
Rustic tile. Rustic tile is the product category that  has the biggest number of production lines at 625, a 25% increase compared with 2014, or  127 more lines. Noticeably, the overall production capacity of tiles in China has gone down by 2.4% during the comparable period.
Ken’s comments. Despite all hiccups, rustic tile has its own charm of rich designs and colors, and the sales channels are well-established. All in all, its prospect is still rosy. When differentiation is the key to success, this product group gives a lot of elbow room for many players.

3.9月8日下午,备受行业关注的佛山市陶瓷行业协会第五届会员代表大会召开,宏宇集团董事长梁桐灿担当佛山陶协会长,行业公知尹虹博士为秘书长,广东东鹏控股股份有限公司何新明董事长为第五届名誉会长。梁桐灿呼吁大家:团结一致,让佛山陶瓷这张名片更加响亮。
KEN评论:团结是主要基调。行业对选举结果非常肯定。
New Chairman.  Foshan Ceramic Industry Association has the new chairman. Early September, Mr. Liang Tongcan, the president of Hongyu Group was elected as the Chairman, Dr. Yin Hong, the industry expert as the General Secretary, and Mr. He Xinming, President of Dongpeng Group as the Honorable Chairman.In his inauguration speech, the new Chairman Mr. Liang called on unity to make “Foshan Ceramic” a more reputable namecard.
Ken’s comments. Unity is the key note. And the local industry peers have cheered for the new election result.

4. 9月5日,第十八届中国(淄博)国际陶瓷博览会开幕。本届展会参展商来自淄博、临沂、山西、河南、福建等全国几大陶瓷产区的代表性企业,展品涵盖陶瓷大板、中板、功能型瓷砖、瓷片、背景墙等,吸引了来自全国各地及俄罗斯、泰国等一带一路沿线国家采购商。
KEN哥评论:每个主要产区都想搞自己的展会。当地客户觉得不错。海外客户怎么想?
Exhibition again.  Early September saw the opening of the 18 th China (Zibo) International Ceramics Expo. The companies from various production zones such as Zibo, Linyi areas in Shandong, and Shanxi, Henan, Fujian showcased the big panels, mid-sized panels, functional tiles, wall tiles, and background walls to attract visitors from different provinces and overseas markets such as Russia and Thailand.  
Ken’s comments. Each production area tend to organize its own regional product show. Local clients may find it interesting. How about the overseas clients? 

5. 9月1日,科达洁能印度子公司首条维修翻新抛光线(48头)顺利出货。印度子公司位于印度古吉拉特邦Morbi地区,提供全面的整线设备售后服务,为客户节约二次设备投资成本。
KEN哥评论:聪明的做法。2个原因。其一,对于任何设备制造商而言,能够在当地提供技术服务是长期竞争优势的重要一环。其二,所谓节省成本有2个维度,1是首期投入;2是设备生命周期的总费用。如果你关心客户的成本,客户自然会照顾你的生意。
Keda Clean Energy in India delivered its first refurbished polishing lines in Gujarat State. The company provides overall aftersales services for the complete production lines and other maintenance to save their second round investment costs.
Ken’s comments. Smart move. Two reasons, the ability to provide local technical service is the long term competitive edge for any equipment provider. Second, saving the costs have at least two dimensions, upfront investment, and overall costs incurred during the life cycle of equipment. If you take care of client’s costs, your clients will take care of your business.
